Hey y’all! I’m getting back from a idyllic Chicago trip and of course the first thing I needed to do was write a recap on the blog. Chicago is perfect for the fall, the weather was crisp, the trees were changing and the vibe was impeccable.
I was there to support my Aunt who was running in the Chicago Marathon and hang with my family but I never waste a good trip to wear the best outfits, eat good food and have a treat yourself moment. Without further ado, let’s get into the where to stay, what to eat and what to do of Chicago!
Where to stay
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on 151 E Wacker Dr and it was close to most of the hotposts like the Cloud (aka the Bean) and Grant Park. It was also super busy (galas, a wedding and major conferences were happening along with the Marathon) If you’re into shopping, you’re probably going to want to stay on the other side of the River.
The Drake was stunning, and much calmer and gorgeous, I had some relatives stay at that hotel during our trip and it was breathtaking. If you’re into more of a classic Chicago vibe, check it out for sure.
wHERE TO EAT
Chicago has some yummy eats and we didn’t miss out! We had to get deep dish from Giordano’s (and it was so good), coffee from Fairgrounds (super cute for morning coffee shots) brunch at Yolk and Ralph Lauren’s restaurant. Honestly, eating at RL was my favorite. The meal, the service and the atmosphere were top notch and very classic. I was such a fan!
wHAT TO DO
My main reason for being there was to support my aunt who was in the Chicago Marathon, but I did take the opportunity to explore the city a little bit. We checked out the classics, strolled through the parks and walked allll the way up and down Michigan Ave.
As enjoyable and timeless the city is, I was really grateful to spend time with the ones I love the most. Hanging out in the hotel, making signs for the race and spending real face time was the highlight of this vacation.
Let me know if you’ve been to Chicago! I’d love to hear how you explored the Windy City.
