Goodbye Summer, Hello Sweater Weather– Its officially fall Y’all!
I don’t know about each of you, but I am counting down the days until the weather gets cooler and the nights get a little longer. In order to get my mind ready for the seasonal transition, here are some things that I’m doing to welcome PSL season the right way.
Thank God for a new season: God has been so good to me, my family, and my loved ones. The turn of a new season means God is refreshing us and renewing us. Stop and pause, and give God the praise He deserves for bringing us through.
Prep my closet: No no, I’m not encouraging you to buy a bunch of new clothes (unless you need to), I’m simply talking about the art of re-organization. Switching out your summer go-to’s to your fall go-to’s will make the transition much easier. I put my summer dresses, shirts, and tops towards the back of my closet. You could go all out and get space saver bags and literally put your summer clothes away. My apartment doesn’t have a ton of space for all that, so I’m using the “out of sight, out of mind” method! Plan out your fall bucket list: Fall in Georgia means apple picking, corn mazes, and pumpkin patches! What I’ve realized in my post-grad life is— a well-planned calendar saves me so much drama! There are 13 Saturdays this fall and if your boyfriend is anything like mine he’ll be glued to the TV screen watching college and professional football. I don’t know about you, but I want my fall date days. Planning out what you want to do/see/eat will require researching ticket policies, making sure you have transportation all figured out, and if you’re a fellow blogger/style enthusiast your outfit! Coordinating fall fun with family and friends is definitely an event so the sooner you knock that out, the smoother this Fall will be for you!

Stock up on all the fall scents: My childhood home was always pristine and smelled like vanilla. I’m more of a floral scent kind of girl, but when it comes to fall I want it to smell like I’m walking down an orange and yellow tree-lined street with a cup of hot apple cider in my hands! My top candle purchases are toasted marshmallow, pumpkin spice, salted caramel, and fig!
Pick out a cause to donate to or volunteer for: Confession– I need to get better at volunteering my time. I found a new cause to support lifelong, but a new season is a great time to think about others. Drop of a socially distanced meal to a friend or family member, donate to a cause that you feel passionately about, share an encouraging word on social media, or better yet– to an actual person. Fall rushes in the holiday season when we all feel a little more generous, why not start now?
