Life is such a complicated thing. We’re all trying to figure out the age old question of who we are, why we’re here and who we’re supposed to be. The funny thing about those questions is sometimes we’ll never find the perfect answer.
Who I was at 10 is drastically different from who I was at 16 and at 22 I’m worlds away from that girl too. We all have these beautiful ebbs and flows that we go through. Highs and lows. Beginnings and endings that create the story of our lives. When reflecting on the 22 (almost 23) years of my life on this Earth, I just thank God that he’s allowed me to see different places, be in different relationships and in turn be different versions of myself.
Finding You is something that we all want to do. We all want to reach our optimal selves; healthiest, wealthiest, smartest. In that search and on that journey, I think we forget how beautiful the work in itself is. The struggle, the triumph and everything in between it takes to improve who you are as a person. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and their is our lives.
Think about all the roles you’ve played in your life. Friend, child, partner, employee, follower, leader. None of them ever defined who your soul is, so why do we focus so intently on creating the “perfect” version of who we’re supposed to be. If you ask me, the beauty will always be in the work. In the triumph, in the overcoming and in the failure.
Just a thought.
