If you’ve ever wanted to have a dessert bar that wows I’ve got the answer. Here’s the secret sauce to make any Summer soiree a success!
After scouring the internet for hours, buying all the things and getting my hands dirty in the kitchen, I’ve created the perfect formula for a dessert bar. Since we want to highlight the summer we decided on S’mores! Keep reading to get the step by step guide to create this dessert bar at your next event.
- Determine your guest count – I like to have two S’mores a person. The average box of graham crackers has about 52 individual crackers in them. It takes two crackers to make one s’more so you’ve got 26 s’mores!
- Pick your fixin’s – When I say dessert bar, I mean options! For 20 people, I had three different kinds of cookies, three different types of chocolate, two extra toppings and marshmallows.
- Assemble your station – Once you’re done shopping, the next step is assembly. Make it easy for your guests to get what they need. Use buckets, trays and ramekins to section off different things to grab. Add tiered trays for dimension and height. Don’t forget sharpies for labeling for the next step!
- Get Cookin’ – After the s’mores are assembled, we sent them to cook. My sweet boyfriend used this s’mores grilling basket (that cooks 4 s’mores). We told everyone to assemble their treat, label the foil and bring them to him for a quick cook on the grill!
- Give ’em the goods – Don’t forget things like napkins, foil and skewers for set up!
