Y’all, I got back from the best trip to Savannah yet– and I’ve been three times. Here’s all the details on what I wore, ate, did and stayed!
We took this trip in July. This was my birthday trip, but the next time we go I think we’ll aim for the fall or spring for a weekend in Savannah! It was definitely hot, even in the mornings, but that didn’t stop us from having a good ole time.
Stay
We stayed at the Thompson Savannah and caught an amazing deal since we stayed in the middle of the week. Here’s the deets:
- $183/night
- Valet parking, street parking (at your own risk) and a parking garage across the street
- Choice from standard, partial or full riverview suite, we picked partial
- Bar Julian and Fleeting, plus a pool bar and lounge
I’m a stickler for amazing service and the Thompson didn’t disappoint. Everyone from the reception folks to the bell hops were kind, courteous and warm. The Thompson was a little ways away from Downtown Savannah. We chose to drive into Savannah’s Historic District and park our car due to the heat level. The hotel was super close to River Street!

Eat
A weekend in Savannah is never complete without delicious food. For breakfast we kept it pretty light, mostly cafes like Cafe M and Mirabelle. Both were French inspired with yummy breakfast sammies, crossaints and parfaits.
Dinnertime called for spots Bar Julian for dinner and had the meatball pizza, kale salad and two craft cocktails. We also stopped by B.Matthew’s for shrimp and grits, salmon and you guessed it– more cocktails. Not everything is pictured, but, everything was delish!
Explore
Pack a little extra cash when you go down to for a weekend in Savannah because the shopping is second to none. We explore Broughton Street’s Kendra Scott store and checked out the local boutiques. Since my boyfriend has never been to Savannah, I decided to book an Old Savannah Tour trolley.
Complete with characters like Forrest Gump, it provided a perfect open trolley tour of the charming city. Its even dog-friendly so Sadie girl got a chance to explore the festivities with us!
I can’t wait for my next trip to Savannah, but for now I’ll keep re-watching my reels and sharing all the goods with y’alll!
